WATCH: Boxing legend Bernard Hopkins knocked out of the ring

Bernard Hopkins, at the age of 51, has been knocked out of the ring – literally knocked clean out of the ring – for an eighth round TKO loss to Joe Smith Jr in Los Angeles.

It was the first time Hopkins has been knocked out in his 65 fight career.

A boxing legend, Hopkins went through the ropes and fell a fair way to the floor below the ring in what is expected to be his last ever fight.

Hopkins later claimed he was pushed out of the ring, but the footage clearly shows he was knocked out by Smith’s punches.
