On Friday, the Mahanoy Township Water Authority notified it's customers that due to drought conditions, the Mahanoy Township Authority is activating Stage 1 of their Drought Contingency Plan. Stage 1 prohibits all Non-Essential Water Uses in the service area. The Emergency Service Area includes Mahanoy Township, Mahanoy City and Gilberton Borough.
